Sugar Cookies with Icing
Today I will be share a recipe of one of my faovorite treats. They are sugar cookies. However, this recipe does not show how the icing is made so it is your choice in putting icing or not. And this recipe is simpler than you think.
Ingredients
- 2 and 1/4 cups of all-purposed flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 3/4 cup of soften unsalten butter
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoons of almond extract
- Royal Icing or Eazy Glaz Icing(not necessarliy needed
Steps
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt together in a medium sized bowl. Set aside.
- Mix butter and sugar toghether untill it is smooth and creamy. Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract and mix.
- To make the dough add the mixture of dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix untill combine.
- Divide the dough into 2 equal parts. Place each portion on lightly floured parchment paper. Roll the dough out to about 1/4-inch thickness.
- Place a piece of parchment paper on top of the 1st piece of dough.Place the 2nd rolled out dough ontop. Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours and up to 2 days.
- Preheat oven to 177°C. Line 2-3 large baking sheets with parchment paper. Removie first 1st dough piece from refrigerator and cut the dough into shapes.Repeat with 2nd piece of dough.
- Arrange cookies on baking sheets. Bake for 11-12 mintues or untill lightly browned around the edges. Cool the cookie on baking sheet for 5 minutes.
- Either decorate or enjoy your cookies!
